Flew into Bucharest, Romania, rented a car and drove to Varna, Bulgaria. 7 1/2 hours to drive there as the 'Friendship Bridge' crossing into Bulgaria was under construction and we sat for 1 hour+ on the bridge in 32 Degrees Celcius.
Nothing to see the entire trip but Sunflower fields and corn fields. Our plan to stop in Ruse, Bulgaria was thwarted due to nothing being there but a Lidl, but a good Lidl; better than Danish Lidl's.
Our apartment in Varna, Bulgaria was fantastic; the best part of the trip. The beaches ARE beautiful, but it's 35 Degrees C, or 95 Degrees Fahrenheit.
5 Hours drive back to Romania on terrible roads, as we avoided the bridge over the Danube from the south and took a route via Dobrich, Bulgaria and Kardam, Bulgaria into Romania, crossed the Danube in Cernavoda, Romania on the bridge there.
